Employment and Commercial Litigation
Karen Rooney Law specializes in employment litigation on behalf of employers from pre-lawsuit negotiations through trial and appeal. Ms. Rooney has defended employers for over 25-years in a wide variety of lawsuits alleging claims for wrongful termination and demotion, discrimination based on race, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability/medical status, marital status and other protected characteristics, harassment based on gender, age, race and national origin and other characteristics, and wage and hour issues. Ms. Rooney also represents investors in connection with claims against broker-dealers and RIAs and has assisted registrants with FINRA licensing issues.
Trial and Arbitration Experience
Unlike many strictly “litigation” firms, Karen Rooney Law has a depth of trial and arbitration experience. Ms. Rooney has tried several jury cases to verdict on behalf of employers, has tried bench cases and has defended employers in almost 40 arbitration proceedings. These cases involved discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, fraud, SOX retaliation, emotional distress, defamation, wage and hour and related claims.
